As growers assess the damage from Hurricane Irma, University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) citrus specialists are available to answer their questions related to hurricane recovery practices for HLB-affected citrus groves.
To provide answers as quickly as possible, the UF/IFAS Citrus Growers’ Hotline (863-956-8611) has been established for growers to call with their questions. Staff will be answering the hotline on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will take down growers’ questions and contact information that will be delivered to the appropriate citrus specialist to reply back directly to the caller.
Growers are also encouraged to call the hotline to let UF/IFAS know what the current needs are for their operations. This information will help direct the planning of future UF/IFAS citrus Extension programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the Florida citrus industry.
