Congratulations to citrus grower Jimmy Carter of JK Carter Groves in Lake Wales, Florida, the winner of the John Deere gun safe giveaway at Citrus Expo 2018! This popular Citrus Expo annual giveaway is a tradition made possible by sponsorship from Everglades Equipment Group. All growers who pre-register for Citrus Expo are eligible for the drawing.
Megan Price, Miss Florida Citrus, drew the winning ticket. AgNet Media’s Taylor Hillman announced the name of the lucky winner to the crowd gathered at the Everglades Equipment Group exhibit.
Citrus, vegetable and specialty crop growers and industry members packed the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers on Aug. 15 to visit the trade show and seminar program. Growers attended a general session in the morning followed by concurrent afternoon sessions for both citrus growers and vegetable and specialty crop growers.
The seminar program, “Planting Tomorrow’s Profits,” grants continuing education units (CEUs) toward a Florida restricted-use pesticide license as well as Certified Crop Adviser CEUs. The Citrus Expo seminars and trade show continue through Aug. 16.
