Tim Hurner will be inducted into the Florida Association of County Agricultural Agents (FACAA) Hall of Fame at the annual Extension Professional Associations of Florida meeting in Panama City in September. Hurner served Highlands County as the citrus Extension agent and county director for more than 40 years. He was inducted into the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame in 2019.
The FACAA Hall of Fame Award was established to recognize FACAA members for demonstrated commitment, dedication and effective leadership in job performance as an outstanding educator, association involvement at the state and national level, and outstanding humanitarian service. Each year one agent is chosen to be inducted.
Hurner’s name has been forwarded to the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) for consideration for the Hall of Fame at the national level. Each year one state winner is chosen from each of the four NACAA national districts. This year’s national meeting will be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia in July.
