Florida agriculture is filled with industry giants who have left a rich legacy of achievement, innovation and progress. The Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame, which honors those who have made significant contributions, is now accepting nominations for inductees.
The online nomination form is available on the Florida Ag Hall of Fame website. Visit floridaaghalloffame.org and click on the “Nominate” tab. Nominations and supporting materials must be postmarked no later than Sept. 1.
The Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame honors men and women who have made lasting contributions to agriculture in this state and to mentoring of youth, who represent the future of agriculture in Florida.
“There’s no way to quantify the tremendous contributions that the Hall of Fame inductees have made to Florida farming. They have shaped our industry,” said Ray Hodge, president of the Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame Foundation. “We invite the agriculture community to nominate those who have demonstrated selfless dedication to advocacy and advances in agricultural production.”
Inductees are selected each year from among nominations made by the agriculture community. Those inductees are honored at a February banquet during the Florida State Fair in Tampa. This year, more than 600 people attended the dinner and ceremony.
