One of the top traditions at the Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo that growers look forward to every year is the annual gun safe giveaway sponsored by Everglades Equipment Group. Only growers who preregister for the event are eligible to win the valuable prize.
Miss Florida Citrus Payton Barrington drew the winning name. Austin Pell of Pell Citrus and Nursery was the lucky winner. Although hundreds of grower names are entered into the drawing every year, this was Pell’s second time winning the annual gun safe giveaway. He won the prize in 2017.
The Expo featured a general session this morning, and citrus and vegetable/specialty crop seminars will be held this afternoon. The trade show concludes today with a networking reception for attendees and vendors. The event continues tomorrow, Aug. 18, with more seminars and a trade show at the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers, Florida. Show hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
