WCO is a global platform for dialogue and action that brings together citrus-producing countries. The group includes more than 40 other associations, companies and members that work together to promote citrus consumption, improve product placement and share experiences and best practices.

WCO has a variety of initiatives to provide accurate and up-to-date seasonal forecasts for the North and South hemispheres. It also organizes and conducts promotional campaigns showcasing the healthy and nutritive nature of citrus fruits.

By gaining its first Mexican member, WCO continues to push for the broadest possible representation of the diverse nature of the citrus sector. WCO already includes members from Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and the United States.

WCO stated that establishing a foothold in Mexico, a major producer of citrus fruits, will enable it to grow further, attracting new Mexican members. That will enable WCO to make the Mexican contingent in the organization more representative of the sector as a whole “and allow us to tailor our activities to the needs of Mexican producers and processors as well as to fine-tune production data forecasts for the country,” WCO stated.

Citrojugo is part of Grupo Gudiño Ochoa and has more than 40 years of experience in the Mexican citrus industry. “We control from start to finish our supply chain, getting the best handling of our processes and products, ensuring the fulfilment of sustainable practices during the entire process,” its website states. The family-owned business specializing in citrus-derived products was founded in 1980. In addition to Mexico, it has facilities in McAllen, Texas, and Osaka, Japan.
