The Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame, which honors producers, commodity leaders, educators, scientists and others who have contributed to agriculture in the Sunshine State, is accepting nominations for its class of 2024 inductees.
There are two ways to nominate:
- Submit an application and supporting materials via Jotform. Jotform is an online tool the Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame is using for submitting applications. (This is the recommended method.)
- Download the editable PDF and email the form and all required materials to nominate@floridaaghalloffame.org.
Nominations and supporting materials must be submitted electronically no later than Sept. 1.
“The Hall of Fame celebrates the rich history of Florida agriculture, connecting the present-day community with the giants on whose shoulders we all stand,” said Ray Hodge, president of the Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame Foundation. “We invite the agriculture community and others to nominate those who have demonstrated selfless dedication to advocacy and advances in agricultural production, innovation and education.”
Inductees will be honored in February 2024 at a banquet during the Florida State Fair in Tampa. This year, more than 500 people attended the dinner and ceremony to recognize the 2023 honorees.
“It is such an honor just to be nominated, much less inducted. To get added to such an august roster of Florida agriculture legends is a gift I will always treasure,” said 2023 inductee John Woeste, emeritus dean of Extension for the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. “But it’s not just about me or my fellow inductees. This is about lifting an entire industry by telling our story and elevating the people who make Florida one of the most important and productive agricultural regions of the world.”
