Although the Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo is at a new location this year at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, many of the event’s traditions are alive and well. One of those traditions is the annual gun safe giveaway, sponsored by Everglades Equipment Group. Growers who preregister for the Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo are eligible to win the prize.
Miss Florida Citrus Casana Fink drew the name of the gun safe winner, Scott Mislevy of Mislevy Enterprises Inc. Mislevy is a citrus grower in Zolfo Springs, Florida.
This morning at the Expo, a general session drew a large crowd with many growers coming to hear Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson speak. Growers will have the opportunity to attend citrus and vegetable/specialty crop seminars this afternoon. The Expo will conclude with a networking reception on the trade show floor today. The party will include food and drinks, a live band and the annual FFA fundraiser, featuring the annual smoker giveaway from Hays-LTI.
