
Florida Citrus Mutual (FCM) will be holding a series of grower meetings around the state to provide citrus producers with the latest information on various funding and programs available to assist their operations.
The meetings will take place at 10:30 a.m. as follows:
- Tuesday, Sept. 2 – U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory, 2001 Rock Road, Fort Pierce
- Wednesday, Sept. 3 – Town of Lake Placid Government Center, 1069 FL-25, Lake Placid
- Thursday, Sept. 4 – University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC), Ben Hill Griffin Auditorium, Lake Alfred
Mike Joyner, FCM executive vice president and chief executive officer, will begin the meetings with an update on FCM activities.
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) representatives will provide information on the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program and other FSA programs.
Updates will also be provided on the latest cycle of the Citrus Research and Field Trial (CRAFT) programs, which is now open for applications through Oct. 3. CRAFT representatives will be available to assist with the application process after the meetings.
At the Fort Pierce meeting, Scott Adkins, U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory director, will give an update on USDA research. Michael Rogers, CREC director, will share UF/IFAS research updates during the Lake Alfred meeting.
The meetings will conclude with a general question-and-answer session and lunch.
