The Citrus Administrative Committee (CAC) is seeking nominations for new committee members and alternates to serve two-year terms from August 2026 to August 2028.

Nominations for members and alternate members will be submitted within an official nomination meeting. This meeting will be held via Zoom on April 16 at 1:30 p.m. A chairman and secretary will be elected to manage the meeting. A list of nominees will be compiled into a nomination slate during this call. A vote will be taken on the same Zoom call, and a final list of nominees will be submitted to the U.S. secretary of agriculture for consideration.

The Zoom meeting may be accessed here. The meeting ID is 883 5336 0036, and the passcode is 765971.

The CAC administers Federal Marketing Order 905. The committee sets minimum grades and size standards for Florida citrus that is shipped interstate and exported to assure an orderly market for the fruit. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversees the CAC and must approve the nominees for committee membership.

USDA Agricultural Marketing Service policy is that the diversity of the board should reflect the diversity of their industries in experience of members, methods of production and distribution, marketing strategies and other distinguishing factors that will bring different perspectives and ideas to the table. When submitting nominations, the industry must consider the diversity of the population served and the knowledge, skills and abilities of the members to serve a diverse population.

A minimum of 10 grower nominations and 10 alternate member nominations are needed. Grower members shall produce citrus fruit for the fresh market. Grower members may be persons who, in addition to being producers, are shippers or employees of shippers. At least one of the nominees and their alternates so nominated shall be affiliated with a bona fide cooperative marketing organization.

CAC also seeks nominations for a public member and an alternate public member. A public member is someone who has no direct commercial ties or affiliations with the citrus industry. The public member will be elected at the first meeting of the new committee.
