Rick Kress, senior vice president of research commercialization for Southern Gardens Citrus will present a webinar titled “Can We Live Without Citrus?” on August 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT.
Can you imagine what your store would look like if the orange juice section was suddenly empty or produce shelves were void of all oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes? This is is possible in light of the disease citrus greening, which has been a major contributor to a 70 percent reduction in Florida citrus production in just 11 years. This disease can also have an impact on citrus in Texas and California.
During the webinar, the impact of citrus greening on the retail shelf, supply, cost and availability for shoppers will be discussed. Information on the global grove impact and potential solutions for this serious problem also will be discussed.
