A unique new sponsor targeting Florida citrus growers will result in broadcast “from location” in Italy

(AgNet Media, Inc., Gainesville, FL, September 29, 2016)  The annual October citrus crop forecast from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service will be broadcast live for the 22nd consecutive year, at noon on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, on the Southeast AgNet Radio Network and online at www.SoutheastAgNet.com, www.AgNetWest.com and www.CitrusIndustry.net.

As concern grows about Florida citrus crop declines, growers, industry leaders and newsmakers from around the state are expected to gather in unprecedented numbers to hear this broadcast together as it goes public. Several citrus organizations will host members at Baxter Troutman’s Dark Hammock Legacy Ranch near Lake Placid. Troutman also owns Labor Solutions.com, a long-time broadcast sponsor.

only-moso-flag-bottomA new premier sponsor for this crop forecast coverage series, OnlyMoso USA, will host AgNet’s Gary Cooper to anchor the broadcast from a related bamboo business headquarters in Italy, which has close ties to OnlyMoso USA, a U.S. corporation with offices in South Florida. AgNet Media News Director Sabrina Hill will co-anchor the broadcast from the ranch event. Hill lives in California and has been the primary anchor for AgNet West radio programming there since 2012.

OnlyMoso USA joins other long-time crop forecast sponsors Labor Solutions, Inc., Farm Credit of Florida and Florida Citrus Mutual in sponsoring monthly forecast updates throughout the citrus season.

OnlyMoso USA officials say the company offers smaller acreage citrus growers in particular strong profit opportunities in an internationally proven $60 billion green industry. Products from certain species of giant bamboo continue to evolve into many areas, including food, wood, building materials and other “green” product lines, some in high demand globally. Approximately 3,000 acres of this type of bamboo have been growing in Italy for more than two years. Cooper hopes to report back about what he sees as Italian bamboo farmers expect their first partial harvest next spring.
