OctoberThe October issue of Citrus Industry magazine celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC). An in-depth article recaps the history of the University of Florida center, decade by decade. Also included is a timeline of major citrus events as well as CREC’s greatest accomplishments over the years. In addition, the issue looks at the present status of the Florida citrus industry and provides a glimpse of future challenges that lie ahead.

Besides the special coverage commemorating 100 years of CREC, the October issue includes an article on a California citrus research facility. The Lindcove Research and Extension Center, operated by the University of California, has dozens of citrus research projects underway. Len Wilcox’s California Corner article provides the details.

Another topic covered in the October issue is upcoming fresh-fruit industry organizational changes. Learn more about the Florida challenges prompting the changes in Ernie Neff’s End of the Row column.
