The 2022 Florida Citrus Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be held Friday, Oct. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Florida Southern College’s (FSC) George W. Jenkins Fieldhouse. The college is at 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive in Lakeland.
The event is sponsored by Florida Citrus Mutual, the Florida Department of Citrus and the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame, Inc.
The induction luncheon will be followed by the Florida Citrus Processors Association Meet & Greet reception at the McKay Archive Center, also on the FSC campus.

2022 INDUCTEES
This year’s inductees will be George F. Hamner Jr., the late A. Tillis Edwards Jr. and the late Edward A. Taylor.
Edwards was president of Edwards Packing Co. and was president or vice president of multiple industry organizations.
Hamner led his family’s fresh fruit packing business, Indian River Exchange Packers, Inc. He was also a leader of numerous citrus organizations, especially those representing the fresh side of the industry.
Taylor was a Florida Department of Citrus executive director. He was responsible for marketing programs that included the slogan, “breakfast without orange juice is like a day without sunshine” and the Florida Sunshine Tree symbol.

The Florida Citrus Hall of Fame was established in 1962 to pay tribute to those who have made outstanding contributions to the Florida citrus industry. Almost 200 have been inducted over the past 60 years. See all of the inductees.
