The 2024 Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo, hosted by AgNet Media, took place Aug. 21–22 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) citrus educational sessions were held during the afternoon of the first day of the event and in the morning on the second day. There were 12 presentations and one researcher panel that covered a wide range of topics. These included HLB therapies, grove management practices, new citrus varieties and pests of importance to citrus.

If you missed the Expo or would like to review some of the presentations again, they are now available online at the UF/IFAS Statewide Citrus Research website

In addition to the 12 presentations that are available for viewing as PDF files online, there are also links to the online versions of two publications that were provided at the UF/IFAS Citrus Extension booth at the Expo. The first is “Keeping Citrus Growers Informed,” a research book containing updates on more than 70 ongoing UF/IFAS research projects. The second publication is “Growing Citrus – A multiprong HLB management strategy (August 2024)”. This short 17-page booklet is a brief guide to the most important things growers should keep in mind when developing HLB management plans for groves.

The annual 2024–2025 UF/IFAS Florida Citrus Production Guide was also available in hard-copy format at the UF/IFAS Citrus Extension booth. If you didn’t get a copy, you can obtain a hard copy from your local citrus Extension agent or get a digital copy online.

All of these resources and more are available anytime online at the UF/IFAS Statewide Citrus Research website.
