The UF/IFAS Citrus Team conducts ongoing research to improve citrus production management strategies. The Citrus & Specialty Crop Expo is one of the main annual events where the team comes together to showcase the latest research and tools available to citrus growers. For more than 20 years, the citrus team has had a presence at the Expo trade show. This year will be another opportunity for growers to visit the booth.

In the booth, you’ll find hands-on demonstrations, posters and plenty of opportunities to interact with researchers. You will meet faculty, staff and students who all play pivotal roles in conducting research projects. They are eager to share their work!

Beyond networking, growers can pick up the latest information resources. The Florida Citrus Production Guide will have a new look and feel to make information easier to access and use. The guide will be provided in a three-ring binder and organized into two sections: Citrus Production Fundamentals and Current Season Spray Guide. The Spray Guide will be bound separately and can be easily removed and carried to the grove while the main reference, Fundamentals, can be kept for long-term use. More information will be available on the new format at the Expo citrus seminars.

Supplemental quick reference guides to accompany the production guide will also be available for foliar fungal diseases, insects and mites, and weeds. These single sheet documents are updated annually to coordinate with the latest updates in the production guide

It has been one year since the UF/IFAS Magazine launched. As we begin our second year, we encourage you to pick up the latest edition at the booth and share your feedback on the content and format.

Stopping by the UF/IFAS Citrus Team booth will give you a one-stop shop for the latest citrus publications and resources to help you make informed management decisions. Visit us Aug. 12–13 on the back left wall at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center in Ft. Myers. We look forward to seeing you there!

Jamie D. Burrow is Extension program manager, and Tripti Vashisth is associate center director and professor, both at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred.
