
Syngenta is seeking applicants for its 2027 Florida citrus summer internship program running from May to August. Interns will gain hands-on experience working beside industry professionals, develop technical agronomic skills and build a foundation for a career in agriculture.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Intern activities include:
- Pest scouting support for miticides and insecticides
- Soil sampling support for fungicides
- Field monitoring and data collection
- Learn citrus production practices
- Work with Syngenta agronomic professionals
Interns will receive mentorship, competitive wages and a company truck for work use.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications for the internship program include:
- College freshman, sophomore or junior class standing working toward a bachelor’s degree, preferably in agriculture or related fields
- Ability to relocate to or originally be from one of these Florida counties: Polk, Highlands, Hardee, DeSoto, Hendry, Collier, Lee, Okeechobee, Martin, Osceola, St. Lucie or Indian River
- Demonstrated leadership ability in student organizations and/or work experiences
- A valid drivers license and acceptable moving violations record
- Strong customer focus, business acumen, resilience, interpersonal savvy and integrity
- Basic familiarity with production agriculture
- Basic familiarity with pest, disease and weed control
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work outdoors
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, honest and personable
OTHER DETAILS
Ideal majors for internship participants are agribusiness, agronomy, crop and soil science, plant science, agricultural technology, horticulture, agricultural education and other agriculture-related fields.
Interns will work in Florida citrus-growing regions and train at Syngenta’s Vero Beach Research Center.
