AgNet Media, publisher of Specialty Crop Grower magazine, is pleased to announce that Ned Hancock has been selected as the 2026 Citrus Achievement Award winner. Hancock and his family have been involved in the Florida citrus industry for generations.

Hancock has dedicated countless hours serving in leadership roles for numerous citrus associations, including Florida Citrus Mutual’s board of directors. He has also served as a board member and past president of the Highlands County Citrus Growers Association.

In addition, Hancock has provided valuable input on research activities aimed at finding solutions to HLB through his service on the board of directors of the Citrus Research and Development Foundation. He has made numerous trips to Tallahassee and Washington to advocate on behalf of his fellow growers.

Matt Joyner, executive vice president and chief executive officer of Florida Citrus Mutual, applauded the selection of Hancock for the award. “Through a lifetime of service, Ned has demonstrated an unfailing commitment to Florida citrus. From his family’s century-long legacy of production to his leadership at all levels, his contributions have strengthened the industry, supported growers and helped ensure that Florida citrus remains a vital part of our state’s agricultural heritage.”

Don’t miss the June issue of Specialty Crop Grower magazine. Hancock will be featured in the issue’s cover story. He will be presented with the Citrus Achievement Award trophy during the industry luncheon at the Florida Citrus Industry Annual Conference in June.
