Susan McLean, Uncle Matt’s Organic vice president of marketing and innovation, said Matt50 contains just 50 calories per serving. It is sweetened with organic stevia, a sugar substitute made from the leaves of the stevia plant.

An Uncle Matt’s Organic media release stated that the average American consumes more than three times the recommended amount of sugar, “so finding ways to reduce intake without sacrificing on taste is key.” It added that stevia delivers the desired sugar-like sweetness that consumers want with zero calories.

Matt50 comes in a 52-ounce size and is available at Whole Foods Market and Sprouts Farmers Market locations nationwide.

Uncle Matt’s Organic stated that its juices come from 100% organically grown fruit that is free from synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and genetically modified organisms. The company is named for Matt McLean, member of a Florida citrus growing family and uncle to 10 nieces and nephews. McLean went into the organic juice business in 1999.
